A separate randomized trial of NRPT (nicotinamide riboside combined with pterostilbene) in 120 healthy adults aged 60 to 80 similarly confirmed that daily oral dosing increases NAD+ levels in humans safely and sustainably (Dellinger et al., 2017) over a full 60-day study period, with clinic visits at baseline, day 30 and day 60 to track blood levels.

Even more compelling: a Parkinson's disease safety trial testing high-dose NR (up to 3,000 mg per day) reported that NR therapy was well tolerated with no moderate or severe adverse events, and greatly augmented the blood NAD metabolome with up to a 5-fold increase in blood NAD+ levels (Brakedal et al., 2022).
